“I urge you then, to pray for all people, to plead for God’s mercy upon them, and to give thanks. This is good and it pleases God our Savior… For he wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth that there is only one God and one Mediator over all, who can reconcile God and all people: he is the man, Jesus Christ. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message that God gave to the world. 1 Timothy 2:1-6

What are these Houses of Prayer?

They are basically a small group who pray together and are accountable to each other to try to be disciplined about intercessory and centering prayer.

A few members and friends of COS along with a neighbor or two, committed to gathering weekly to pray for each other’s concerns and for their neighbors concerns, for people they know through work or who live near them.

Some of the key characteristics that the Houses of Prayer we already have up and running share are that they are each intentional about inviting and welcoming newcomers, and try to incorporate scripture reading and accapella or accompanied song throughout their times of focused prayer.
