Cornelis (Kees) Van Nuis, age 72, went home to his Redeemer on Thursday, February 7, 2008, following a long battle with cancer. Kees will be missed greatly, but we rejoice with him that he is now in the presence of the Lord.
Kees was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Lou Ondersma Van Nuis. He is survived by his daughters, Susan (Andre) Korstanje and Sharon (Patrick) Cousineau and their families, and dear friend, Barbara Miner. The family will greet friends and relatives on Wednesday, February 13, from 2-4 and 6-9pm at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel (2800 Burton SE). The funeral service will be at 11:00am on Thursday, February 14, at Church of the Servant. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Following that will be a time of food and fellowship at the church.
Kees has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Inner City Christian Federation (920 Cherry St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI) or to Cherry Street Health Services Special Fund, in honor of Barbara J. Miner (540 Cherry St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI).
