Jack will be preaching from the lectionary beginning this week. As liturgical providence would have it, all the New Testament readings circle around the theme of Christ as the Shepherd, and the Church as his sheep; the lectionary Psalm is Psalm 23. How could I resist a lob like this? I decided to turn communion into an all out Psalm 23 fest. That’s right—every song is based on this famous Shepherd Psalm. What better way to celebrate communion than to sing about the Table he’s prepared for us that is a foretaste of dwelling in the house of the Lord forever?
