This past Sunday our worship included the song “Weep No More” from Karen and David Campbell. Based on Jeremiah 31:16-17, the song served as our hymn of response. You can read the lyrics below and listen to the song here:

Verse 1
So many times I’ve felt a failure,
As a mother and a child,
All my life I’ve felt unable
to keep my kids from running wild,
Father God can you hear me,
I know I’ve prayed this prayer before,
how can I keep my children,
following Your ways O Lord,

and I’m crying out (weep no more)
Oh I’m crying out (weep no more)
Bring Him home,
And I’ve shed these tears (weep no more)
All these broken years (weep no more)
For my son …

Refrain
Weep no more, Weep no more
I have seen all the times that you’ve cried,
Let me wipe, tear stained eyes,
Take my hope for I know that you’ve tried,
I know all that you’ve done for your son
So just pray in my time he will come,
There’s a future and a great reward,
Weep no more.

Verse 2
My job demands all that’s within me,
And my mortgage takes the rest,
I’d love to serve my church much better
But I’m too tired to give my best,
Help me Lord bring back the focus,
That Your love sets me free,
Take my guilt and take my sorry,
Help me find the You in me,

and I’m crying out (weep no more)
Oh I’m crying out (weep no more)
Bring Him home,
And I’ve shed these tears (weep no more)
All these broken years (weep no more)
For my son …

Refrain …
