The Wednesday Night Book Group will gather in the Living Room following the church dinner on Dec. 7 at 6:45. We are led by Gayle Boss, member of Monroe Community Church, as we read through her new Advent book: All Creation Waits. The book’s beautiful illustrations and lovely words encourage readers of all ages to slow down in this waiting season of Advent. Books can be purchased on the table in Lobby for $10.

In January, the COS Book Group will read The Grapes of Wrath led by Mert Smits. What has changed for the poor since the Dust Bowl for migrants and the poor? How do we respond as Christians to this book, then and now? Has anything changed since 1940? If you do not have a copy, check on Amazon for used copies for very low cost, or at used bookstores. Some only $1!

In February, we will read Ruined a memoir by Ruth Everhart, daughter of Joan Huizinga. This true story is especially poignant for young girls and women who have experienced any type of sexual trauma. Grace breaks through the darkness. Ruth will also speak in Adult Ed January 29.
