The deacons at COS call your attention to the special offering next week to fund our denomination’s aid agency, World Renew’s Disaster Response Services (DRS), the “green shirts”, which members of our congregation have volunteered with in past years.
While we have the images of destruction from hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria still fresh in our minds, DRS is already aiding these communities throughout the southern states and Puerto Rico as well as helping to rebuild communities still greatly affected by previous natural disasters. In Michigan we were blessed to enjoy an “indian summer” and should not forget our brothers and sisters who will be dealing with the damage from their weather for years to come.
