Happening This Sunday
Last Chance! This Sunday is your last chance to financially support the members of our Puerto Rico youth mission team! You can do this by placing money in an envelope from our money board or ordering coffee during the coffee hour in the café. Online donations will also be accepted for this trip through this coming Friday, March 29. (Visit “Giving” on the COS website and click on “Give to Church of the Servant” to indicate your online offering towards Puerto Rico.) Thank you so much for your generous support of our trip! We look forward to representing the servant heart of COS in Puerto Rico March 29-April 5.

The COS Antiracism Team is putting together a COS list of those who have attended a 2.5 day Understanding Racism Workshop. We would like to have occasional contact to invite you to relevant events. One upcoming event will be Sunday, April 28 from noon to 2pm here at COS. We will have a meal together, some reflecting on the impact and work of racism in our lives and a learning opportunity offered by Calvin Professor Joe Kuilema.

COS and a few other local churches are working with Plaster Creek Stewards to build wildlife habitats and promote creation-care education as part of the National Wildlife Federation’s Sacred Grounds program (www.nwf.org/sacredgrounds). Each church is receiving $1500 from an NWF grant. We will be using our funds to build a new rain garden in the swale that recently flooded on the east side of our parking lot. The garden will be planted with native species that attract wild bees and butterflies. Stay tuned for announcements about work dates in May. For more information, contact Ginny Kuilema, Kristin Lee, or David Koetje.
What does BES sound like? Well, considering the variety of languages and musical traditions represented in our fellowship, BES enjoys many different songs and sounds offered for the glory of God. Come to the church dinner and birthday party on April 7 to hear for yourself! #BES10thbirthdayparty
