VBS Registration is in progress! There are two easy ways to register your child entering 1st – 5th grades for our VBS being held June 24-27th from 6-8:30 pm. Register online at www.vbspro.events/p/cos OR fill out one of the bright orange registration forms near the VBS poster in the café.
The COS Creation Care Team meets tomorrow evening (Monday 6/17) at 7pm in the church Living Room. We will get an update on the recent East Africa Climate Boot Camp, our participation in Sacred Grounds, the coming Drawdown workshop, our research into green burials, decide on our next educational offerings, and start to talk about where we want to focus during the 2019/2020 year. You are very welcome to join us, or just check us out, with no commitment. Please come!
Registration is open for the June 20-22 Understanding Racism Workshop. This workshop experience is designed to explore the deep racial complexity of the United States and begin to explore paths for reconciliation. Our goal is to gain insight in understanding systemic racism through the eyes of faith and Scripture. We encourage all leaders and members at Church of the Servant to attend one of these workshops. This effort helps us to become focused and work together to address one of our country’s greatest troubles. Register on line at CORRnow.org.
Is Centering Prayer integral to your spiritual life? This contemplative practice has (re)formed and meets at the Dominican Center, in the Meditation Room behind the Chapel. We gather on alternate Tuesdays from 12:00-12:40 pm: Jun 18, Jul 2, 16, 30 and beyond. Please join us in this traditional Christian communal silence.
Giving Update: Our giving for Sunday, June 9 plus the weekly online giving and our monthly ACH totaled $32,125.39. So our total for the month of June is currently at $48,885.93.
The Meijer Simply Give Spring campaign runs through this Saturday, June 22, 2019. You are encouraged to purchase $10 Meijer Simply Give donation cards at the Cascade Meijer, and the COS food pantry will receive credit for the donation. The Double Days are over, but you still have this week to purchase donation cards for the COS food pantry. COS serves about 100 families a month in our church and our community through our pantry.
