The Camelot Block Party with our neighbors across the street along with our Camelot church partners will be on Saturday, August 7 at 11 am-1:30 pm at the Camelot Park, 2230 Rowland SE. Please take your kids and join us for a fun time of soccer, bounce house, yard games, chalk art, and a beef hot dog lunch. Let’s meet and build relationships with our neighbors!

We also need volunteers to help. If you can help, please contact Lori Wiersma to volunteer or meet at COS at 10:30 am on August 7 or at 1:30 pm at Camelot Park to take down.

Each day 600 pints of blood are needed for our Michigan hospitals. You can make a life-saving difference to another person! There is no substitute for blood…it is precious, perishable, and the need for it is vital. Give an hour of your time, and share your gift of life on Monday, August 2, between 2-7pm, in our building. Will you help us meet our goal of collecting 22 units of blood, and recruiting 2 new donors? You can schedule an appointment through Sunday on the Versiti website. Walk-ins are welcome, but those with appointments will be served first. Each person who comes to donate will receive a beach towel, compliments of Versiti. Thank you!  Questions?  Call Ruth Huisman (337-9763).

As we continue in-person, indoor services, we invite more people to serve as Sunday morning scripture readers. If you would like to read scripture during a morning worship service, please sign up here.

On Wednesday evening, 7/28, 9 intrepid native plant gardeners braved the heat and planted the first 400+ native plants in our Parking Lot Islands.  We are scheduling work evenings every Wednesday evening at 6:30 until we are done (we are hoping and guessing September 15).  Please plan to join us for as many (or as few) of these events as you choose.  We are planning to work no more than an hour and a half each Wednesday.  This is a great project for kids, young people, and families (as Josh, Chantale, Skyler, and James Garone proved on our first planting night).  Please let Steve Mulder (steven.mark.mulder@gmail.com) know if you are planning to come on any of these Wednesdays, so that we have an idea of how many to expect…and bring a trowel and knee pads if you have them!

Soundboard volunteers needed. As we continue to navigate our return to indoor worship services, we need more people willing to run the soundboard in both morning services. If you are interested in serving COS in this way, please contact dave.hartwell@coscrc.org.
