The mission of our youth programs is to:
“Listen to the Creator so that we understand his love more completely, worship more fully, and share his love more outwardly.”
Our goal is to enable students to keep the faith through college, and into adulthood. The programs focus on Scripture, prayer, worship, service, and fellowship. Students are encouraged to be involved in the church as a body as well as the community in which we live. Service activities and fun events are planned for all who wish to participate. Financial assistance is available for activities, if needed.
Wednesday Night Live
During the school year, the Middle School Youth Group — for students in grades 7 and 8 — meets on the first three Wednesday evenings of each month, after the all-church dinner. We study the Heidelberg Chatechism, eat, and play games. We also do a fun activity outside of youth group once a month.
Wednesday Night Live Schedule

High School Youth
Passing On a ‘Sticky’ Faith
Dr. Kara Powell of the Fuller Youth Institute has coined the phrase ‘Sticky Faith.’ Sticky Faith refers to the kind of faith that Christian parents (and the Church!) desire to pass on to their children—a living, lasting faith that will ‘stick’ with them into adulthood.
At COS, we are striving to pass on a sticky faith to our children and youth. For our high school students, we do this through Sunday school classes, Bible study, Small Groups, involvement in church leadership, large group discussions on potentially divisive issues, retreats, service projects, and summer trips. All of these ministries rely heavily on building authentic, caring relationships between the students themselves and, of equal importance, between students and the members of our church. We pray that the Spirit will work through these relationships to strengthen our faith and bind us to Christ for the rest of their lives. In other words, we pray for sticky faith.
High School Sunday School meets in the Youth Room following worship time every Sunday except for the 1st Sunday of the month. (Intergenerational Sunday School occurs in the café on the 1st Sunday of the month) Sunday School Theme: Reformed Doctrine
Big Group Youth Group meets in the Youth Room at 6pm on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of the month. The 1st Sunday of the month centers on our study of the book of Acts. The 3rd Sunday of the month is spent listening to TED-style talks on controversial issues, and then discussing them.
Small Groups meet some time during the 2nd week of the month. Students of the same gender and in the same grade are invited to meet with their small group leaders at a time set by the leaders. To get connected with a small group, contact Annette.email@example.com.
Service Projects are typically offered the 4th week of every month during the school year.
Summer Trips are offered every year, rotating between local service projects, international mission trips, wilderness trips, and discipleship retreats. This year’s trip will most likely be a wilderness trip with the ministry organization Colorado Challenge June 18-24.
