Worship

Sunday worship is the heartbeat of a vital church. At Church of the Servant we seek to express our faith in worship services that glorify God and build us up for lives of service as God’s people. Our worship is drawn from both traditional and contemporary Christian sources, and our liturgies reflect the church seasons of Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, Pentecost, and Trinity.

smallciw.JPGWorship here is not a spectator activity; everyone is invited to become an active participant. For example:

  • Our liturgies include many points at which we are all are asked to speak or sing.
  • We share the peace of Christ with our neighbors.
  • We leave our seats to present our offerings.
  • We walk forward, form circles, and minister the body and blood of Christ to each other at communion.
  • Members regularly read scripture, lead in prayer or music, and give form to faith through art or liturgical dance.

Younger children also have their parts to play. They regularly come forward to witness baptism firsthand, and each week they process out for Little Lambs or Children’s Worship before the sermon.

You’re warmly welcome to join us in worship, and we hope you experience God’s presence as you do.
