August 21 marks the beginning of Trinity Season. The liturgy we’ll be using calls for the dancers to place a cross, candle, pitcher and Bible on the communion table. Displaying the Bible on the communion table is not something we do every season, and we’d like to seize the opportunity to make connections between the reading of the Word in worship and the role scripture plays in the faith of those in our congregation. Therefore, we’re putting a call out to COS members who would like their Bibles to be displayed during worship. It may be a family heirloom, the heavily marked study Bible that got you through seminary, or your first Bible in the language of your birth country. If you would like your Bible to be one of the display Bibles in worship, drop it off at Greg’s office at the church. Make sure it is marked with your name. Please include a short paragraph about why this Bible is special to you and the role it has played in your faith. If you have any questions or want to make arrangements rather than just dropping off the Bible, feel free to email Greg.
