Occasional Help Needed: COS’ Food Ministries
Are you looking for a FUN form of service that you/your family could do together?
If so, maybe COS’ Food Related Ministries are the opportunity for you!
They’re:
- task-oriented,
- involve others,
- are usually kid-friendly,
- don’t usually demand much (in terms of mind or body),
- require little training, and even when training is necessary, the learning curve isn’t steep.
And yet, they do tangibly express the love of Christ to our neighbors!
With Food Related Ministries you make as much of each opportunity as you want—though I’m sure that as you work with and serve others, Christ’s love and compassion will grow within you.
If you’re interested in signing up, please contact me (956-7611×25 Email: Rev. Naji Umran) and provide me with your email address, giving me permission to send you emails 2-3 times a month (or less if you choose from the list below). After that, all you need to do is respond in the affirmative only if/when you’re available—otherwise just disregard them.
If you’d like to narrow down the times I solicit your help, feel free to pick one or two from the following selection of COS’ Food Related Ministries and possible times you’d prefer to be called on to be of service:
- Mobile Food Pantry (Camelot Woods Community Building parking lot on the even Saturdays of each month @ 9:30am)
- Kids’ Food Basket (pick-up @ JB Zoo and drop-off @ Ridge Park Charter Academy some Wednesday afternoons or other times)
- Emergency Food and Clothing Pantry (stocking, tidying, sorting clothing, collecting food from Gleaners/Second Harvest, etc., times TBA)
- County Wide Food Drive (October, distributing flyers, driving COS youth and collecting food from neighborhood, etc.)
- Holiday Food Baskets (November, collecting food, packing boxes, delivery, etc.)
