On display in the ARTery during the next few weeks are photos by Dan Davis that beautifully highlight cross cultural friendships in our congregation. All friends in Jesus Christ.

To celebrate friendships, leading photographer, Dan Davis, photographed friends from different countries or ethnic backgrounds in his studio. Dan has an eye for seeing spirit in people’s relationships and he captures it uniquely on film.

As affirmation, Dan quotes, “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male or female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” – Galatians 3:28

Some friends cross more than ethnic barriers. The most remarkable is new American Buddi Subba’s gift of a kidney from Chaplain Susan Huizenga Cleveland. Dan’s photo asks the viewer to examine whose arm is whose. Bhutanese immigrant, Prasad Rai, became a stand-in parent to Asher Mead. Karen Hampton spent a time learning with mentor, Iranian Zahra Ghashghaeez.

Opportunities abound when we dare to step across ethnic comfort zones and see the world from another’s point of view. Stop by Church of the Servant soon and see these wonderful photos on display.
