Dave works at Ferris State University, while Jessica serves at InterVarsity chapters in Lower Michigan, West Virginia, Western Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
Jessica and Dave connected with COS in 2001, shortly after Jessica began working for InterVarsity. She met pastor Jack Rhoeda when he came to speak to the students at the GVSU chapter, where she was working. Since then, many members of Church of the Servant have been praying for and supporting their ministry. They enjoy connecting with these friends each time they visit and through their prayer letters.
| Description of work: | Dave mentors and trains InterVarsity students at Ferris State University to reach out on campus through small-group Bible studies, weekly worship meetings, prayer, outreach events, ongoing training, and conferences. Jessica serves as the Regional Evangelism Coordinator for InterVarsity’s Great Lakes East Region. She primarily focuses on evangelistic speaking, training, and outreach events for the 50 InterVarsity chapters across this region. She also mentors a regional evangelism team of staff to develop evangelistically gifted leaders. |

| Highlights from Mission work: | “We have been thrilled to see many students come to trust and follow Jesus over these many years. To know that the decisions they are making in college will shape their lives, work, families and world in the years post-graduation gives us hope for how Jesus will use college students to change the world. We have also enjoyed seeing students who enter as freshmen with little vision for what God might do during their years in college gain a vision for being a missionary to the college campus, in their dorms, classrooms and organizations we’re part of. We’ve loved seeing God use students to break down ethnic barriers on campus, serve overseas through missions projects and learn how to share their faith in relevant and compelling ways.” |
