Middle School

The mission of our youth programs is to provide kids with a community that encourages growth in the Christian faith. These ministries include Scripture study, prayer, worship, service opportunities, and fun/fellowship.

Middle school youth are encouraged to be involved in the church as a body as well as in the communities in which they live. Service activities and fun events planned specifically for middle schoolers are open to all who wish to participate. Financial assistance for any activity is available; just talk to Judy Ko, the Minister to Youth.

Middle School Youth Group

During the school year, the Middle School Youth Group – for students in grades 7 and 8 — meets on the first three Wednesday evenings of each month, after the all-church dinner. Our schedule:

Dinner – 5:30 p.m.
Youth room opens – 6:30 p.m.
Youth group – 6:45-7:55 p.m.

The theme for the 2011-12 school year is “On a Journey.” Each youth group lesson will be based on being on a journey, and how that relates to our faith lives and our spiritual growth. What does it mean to walk with God?

Email judy.ko@coscrc.org for more information.

Church School

During the Sunday morning education hour (10-10:45 a.m.), the students will work through HC and Me, a study of the Heidelberg Catechism. Students will learn how the Catechism brings us through the Bible and our faith in God, and teaches us about living as Christians.

Other Goings-On

  • Each month a service project (like serving at the Mobile Food Pantry) and a fun activity (e.g., a Griffins game or an all-nighter) is offered.
  • Coffee meetings: Students are occasionally invited to coffee with Judy. You’re welcome to email judy.ko@coscrc.org to set up a time.
