High School
The mission of our youth programs is to provide a community which encourages growth in our Christian faith. These ministries focus on Scripture, prayer, worship, service, and fellowship. Youth are encouraged to be involved in the church as a body as well as the community in which we live. Service activities as well as fun events are planned specifically for youth and are intended to include all who wish to participate. Financial assistance for any activity is available upon speaking with Judy Ko, the Minister to Youth.
Youth Group
High School Youth Group meets every other Sunday night. We meet in the Youth Room at COS from 6 PM to 8 PM. During youth group, we get together to snack, play games, have a Bible lesson and talk about how it applies to our lives, and have great discussion times. During various youth groups, we divide into small groups to facilitate better discussion or activity times. This year we are looking at what we believe and why, and what others believe and why.
Focus Groups
Students can choose a specific focus group in which to be involved. Ever look at the calendar and think, “there’s way too much for me to be involved in?” The focus groups can help not only your schedule, but also reduce your stress! Here are the focus groups:
-Community Ministry: participate in area service projects, helping out at various ministries in downtown Grand Rapids; be involved in the ACCESS county-wide food drive; visits to the Camelot area, and more!
-Church Ministry: participate in the many facets of church life; liturgical dance, the Racial Reconciliation Committee drama team; help Children’s Worship, Little Lambs, Cadets, Girls Club; read Scripture or pray during a service, and more!
-Relational Ministry: participate in elderly visits; tutor through KIDS HOPE USA; rake leaves, shovel snow, and more!
Prayer Breakfast
Every Friday morning at 6:30.m. at Wolfgang’s in Eastown. Students meet for prayer and breakfast! We share prayer requests and have a time of fellowship. Rides are available to school.
