Education
Something for everyone at Church of the Servant
Our vision: “…to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:11-12)
As a community of Reformed Christians, we are seeking to become more like Jesus Christ by worshiping, learning, and serving together. Our goal is always to see increasing involvement in the educational component of our weekly worship together, so if you have any suggestions, your input about any of our educational activities is always welcome!
Adults’ Education Opportunities
Because of a lack of space for Adult Education on Sunday mornings, we are currently seeking to fulfill our vision by encouraging involvement in a series of small group studies, known as “Six Wednesdays.” These have been taking place at the homes of a number of hosts since October 12 at 7:00 p.m. each Wednesday evening, and will run through to November 16. If you’d like more information on these a brochure is available at the back of the Sanctuary or from Mary Loeks at the church office.
In the new year we plan to return to our ordinary offerings of Adult Education Opportunities on Sundays from 10:00-10:45 a.m. When that happens, we will again be scheduling:
- Bible studies
- Topical studies of books, movies, social concerns, and theological issues
- Presentations of outreach opportunities.
Children’s Church School
During the school year, on Sundays, from 10:00-10:45 a.m., we offer church school for preschool through twelfth grade. At this time, due to space restrictions, nothing is being offered for our highschool students, though 9th-12th grade classes will resume in 2006. At present, classes through sixth grade are using selected four to six week units from the new Walk With Me curriculum by CRC Publications.
Summer Church School
This is offered during summer morning worship services for children three through seven years old.
