Helping you find your place
We seek to welcome all people at Church of the Servant into an open, caring, and accepting community that promotes growth in Christ. Whether you’re a visitor or longtime member, you’ll find multiple ways to link up with likeminded people as we walk together on the road of Christian discipleship. Here are some opportunities to explore:
Households are small groups that meet regularly for study, prayer, support, and fellowship. Because much of the pastoral ministry of the church happens in these groups, every COS member is encouraged to become part of a household. To join a household, call Chris Klein, minister of congregational life, 956-7611 x22.
Three Wednesday evenings a month during the school year, members gather for dinner (5:30pm) in the fellowship space. After the meal, many activities are offered, including Girls’ Club, Boys’ Club, Wednesday Night Live (Middle School youth group) and classes for High School and older. Child-care is provided. For more information, call the church office, 956-7611.
Knitters’ Night Out
Once a month, generally on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7:30pm, a group of people who love handwork gathers together for a night out. Some even come for the fellowship and leave their handwork at home. Contact Henrietta Hamersma (949-9265) if you would like to join them.
Each year, COS offers a variety of ways to study the Bible. In the fall of 2013, COS member Mary Loeks will lead a study on the book of Acts for men and women of all ages. This takes place on Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:00. Childcare is provided. Interested persons may join at any time.
Another study is offered that is designed for women who are newer English speakers. This study is led by Barbara Hampton and meets on Thursday mornings, 10:00-11:30. Childcare is provided.
For more information on either study, contact the church office: 956-7611.

Book Club Group
For those who love to read, join this informal group of readers on the 4th Monday of the month at 7:30pm. Place of meeting rotates to various members’ homes. Email Jan Stoub to find out the details: firstname.lastname@example.org.
First Friday Friends
This movie club for single women and men over 40 meets the first Friday of every month. The movie, time, and theater are selected mid-week, and after watching together, the group meets to discuss the film. If you love movies and would like to be put on the email or phone notification list, please call the church office, 956-7611.
Men’s Prayer and Bible Study
A group of men gathers Saturday mornings from 8-9 am. New participants are always welcome; coffee and doughnuts are provided. For more information, call the church office, 956-7611.
If you’d like to learn more about the Holy Spirit or want to grow in your ability to serve as a witness of Jesus Christ, consider taking the Dunamis course. This is a 10-week series involving video, discussion, and prayer times. To learn more about the course or schedule, call the church office, 956-7611.
To help our members and regular attenders prepare for marriage, we offer a three-session counseling time with the minister of congregational life and one or two sessions with our senior pastor. For more information, contact the church office, 956-7611.
